Community Relief Fund for COVID-19
The Greensboro Association is responding to the COVID-19 pandemic with an organized Community Relief Fund. The fund will help by providing aid to entities at the front lines of health care, food security, and essential services. While the full extent of the need is not yet fully identified, the amount that we are able to contribute and the impact we will have will depend on your financial support.
Community Relief Fund
The Community Relief fund will be managed by the GA Fund for Greensboro and distributed promptly to local high need, high impact organizations with direction from our 21-member Board of Trustees. The GA Grants Committee will work closely with the Town Emergency Response Team as the pandemic is expected to have a significant impact on every facet of life in Greensboro very soon. The Team meets daily to stay on top of needs, organize volunteers and identify available resources. This is community grassroots organizing at its best—literally neighbors helping neighbors.
Selected Community Entities We Support
Area non-profits which provide critical support in terms of medical assistance or support in meeting the most fundamental needs of residents such as food and fuel must be able to keep their own lights on and doors open. For many years, a key role of the Greensboro Association has been to solicit grant applications and provide needed funding to these essential organizations. In light of the current COVID-19 situation, we are expediting our effort and will be providing support to those organizations most in need, including: The Greensboro Nursing Home, Craftsbury Community Care Center, Hardwick Area Food Pantry, Hardwick Area Health Center, AWARE, Greensboro United Church (Community Assistance) and other entities to be considered in conjunction with Greensboro’s Emergency Response Team as the need evolves.
