Fund for Greensboro Annual Report 2021 (updated March 2021)

With sincere thanks to you, our membership, the Fund for Greensboro continues to increase our capacity to fulfill the Greensboro Association’s mission to “conceive, advance, and support village initiatives, and to protect Caspian Lake and its surrounding environment”.

Community Relief Fund

A year ago, in March 2020, the newly formed Greensboro/Stannard Community Relief Team called for a fundraising effort to support community needs relating to COVID-19.  The Greensboro Association responded by launching an appeal.  Our membership responded with exceeding generosity, raising $64,939 in Relief contributions to date.  In our small community, every gift has an impact.  These gifts have provided substantial benefits to our grass roots organizations, the leaders of which see our communities’ challenges firsthand, and the effects of our support.  To say they are extremely grateful is an understatement.

A full year later, we are relieved to see the vaccine rolling out, and hope this hearkens a light at the end of the tunnel.  We are, however, seeing an increase, rather than a decrease, in community need, due to the cumulative effect of work loss, seclusion, and financial burdens on our most vulnerable population.

The GA Relief Committee will continue to seek out highest priority needs, and facilitate Relief designated gifts, in support of the community.

March 2021 Fund for Greensboro progress, beyond the Relief Fund, since 6/30/2020

Please join the 1781 Society

In an effort to provide lasting return for Caspian Lake and the Greensboro Community, the Greensboro Association 1781 Society was formed to recognize those who have made a current gift, or lifetime gifts, or a planned gift of a will or IRA provision of $10,000 or more, in support of the Fund for Greensboro.  1781 Society members have collectively made gifts and commitments of over $500,000 in future support of the lake and community.  All gifts and commitments, large and small, support the whole.

We have two new 1781 Society members since our last report, bringing our ranks to 37!  Thank you and Welcome!

Our sincere thanks to all who have supported the Relief Fund, and Funds for Greensboro.

What is The Fund for Greensboro?

The Fund for Greensboro (FFG) is dedicated to supporting social, environmental, educational, artistic, cultural, recreational, economic, and human service initiatives in Greensboro and the surrounding community. The FFG operates under the auspices of the Greensboro Association, a registered 501(c)(3) organization. The Lake Reserve Fund

The Lake Reserve Fund is dedicated to the protection of the pristine quality of Caspian Lake through community education and targeted programs to prevent and mitigate contamination and environmental threats. It is funded by annual and legacy gifts and guided by a steering committee.

The Community Endowment Fund

The Community Endowment Fund establishes long term funding and income which support current and future Community Grants and ongoing urgent and priority needs in the Community.   Funded activities can include educational and cultural activities, social and health care services, environmental stewardship, and recreation.
